Everything in its time

Sometimes I wonder what lies ahead
How long till my hunger is fed
They say it's hard to make it in this part of town
So many people on this merry-go-round

Some folks try astrology
Some turn to crystal balls
To find an answer to get through it all
I just fall on my knees and I try to pray
In the silence I could hear Him say

The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time

I often feel like I'm two steps behind
Somebody must have moved that finish line
There are a thousand reasons
Why I should give up
But I'm stubborn in the things I believe

The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign

'cause maybe there's another plan
One I still can't see
A little surprise, like your love in my life
Funny how time changes how we see

The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
Everything in its time

Hello from Europe!

Our past two weeks in Europe have been delightful! We have been to Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Den Hague in Netherlands, Brussels and Brugge in Belgium, London, Oxford, Wellingford and Cheltenham in England. Had many memorable moments and took countless picturesque photos.

For the rest of our stay in Europe, we have planned to tour Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxemborg and Liechtenstein.

Yay!

Traveler's tales

Borrowed 4 books from the library today to take on holiday along with my camera.

Rick Steves' Europe 101 - History and Art for the Traveler
Culture Smart! France.
The best women's travel writing
Pico Iyer's The Global Soul

Europe 101 reminds me of the one of my fav modules in NTU - Appreciation of the western renaissance art. I'm looking forward to reading it on the plane. Culture Smart! France is a quick guide to everything french. The best women travel writing contains a wonderful compilation of true stories written by modern women travellers. I've also been wanting to read Pico Iyer's the global soul.

I see myself sitting by the cafes, doing nothing, just enjoying the moment and taking an occasional read to keep my mind working. =p

there shall be no rushing, no sourcing for budget hotels, nor planning travel routes. it shall be free and easy, peaceful and relaxed.

sounds like a perfect holiday for a self-indulgent, retired old lady yeah? Europe 4th to 29th May !!! =)

Our legacy

The above is the fruit of 2 years of teamwork and perseverance. It is also the legacy we left NTU. Available at NTU online publications. =)

I had my last exam in NTU yesterday. LAST! Whoohoooo...! I'm free, happy happy happy!

Bachelor hons completed. Graduated. Finally.

Colloquiality

Warning: Singlish ahead.

Friend: Today's MCQ test was horrible. Out of 15 qns, I aga-aga 5 and tikam 5 leh.

Me: (bewildered) Aga-aga and tikam got difference meh?

Friend: Huh! You dunno arh? aga-aga means you read the qns, and choose an answer based on ur feel. tikam means you dun read the qn, just close both eyes and anyhow choose an answer lor.

I learnt something new that day - so aga-aga means approximate, while tikam means guess.

Meet Audy

My dad rescued a poor guinea pig that was abandoned among the bushes in Chinese Garden a few days ago. Daddy's the hero! We gave him a proper home, and now, he is officially our Audy! Welcome Audy the guinea pig to the home of 4 humans, 2 tortoises, 2 fishes and 1 bird. :p

Audy seems to be a mix of crested and tortoiseshell specie. This explains his crested hat-like head and beautiful coat of shiny black, brown and white fur.

I found this great website on the net that contains descriptions and sound recordings of noises that a guinea pig makes. Click on the link if u want to hear how a guinea pig sounds like when he is happy, excited, hungry, annoyed etc. It turns out that Audy is hungry most of the time, although we really fed him a lot! Guinea pig dried food, carrots and parsley. He is such a glutton he even ate my dad's johor fern.
